For an athlete who values family and the outdoors above all else, Jimmy Chin found himself in a surreal space after winning the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature in 2019 for Free Solo. After the hectic months that followed, this concept for Panerai announcing Jimmy as a brand ambassador focused him back on the thing he loved most -- spending quality time in his beloved home turf of Jackson Hole and The Tetons, and that whole rock climbing thing.

A huge priority for Jimmy was to team with a crew that he knew he could trust: director Nick Martini and Stept Studios. A trusted partner was a priority for Jimmy given the safety requirements and risks when filming in rugged terrain. Rigorous creatively, it was also physically, logistically, and technically demanding, requiring specialized knowledge to capture Jimmy doing what he does best. The result was a short film and campaign that announced the partnership between Panerai and Jimmy.
